Message 130 - AVADHUT GITA

Paris

14 Dec. 2007

A random selection from this text, adored more in South India, would be quite interesting to meditate upon and to ponder over as it reveals the non-dual dimension of inner consciousness. Being presented for Kriyabans as a good material for Swadhyay:

1.    Intelligence (Chaitanya) is all purity, in Itself, by Itself. Application of mind does not make It clearer. Borrowed knowledge from a “Guru” does not reveal It. It is beyond all teachings about bondage & freedom!

2.    As a volume of water poured into water gets inseparably united; so in the purity of perception, there is no perceiver and the perceived.

3.    O beloved, drink the timeless great nectar of non-duality.

4.    When the consciousness is free from the imperfections of attachment and identification, there is no suffering.

5.    Avadhut is in unshakable equanimity living in the holy temple of nothingness! For him, there is neither bondage nor liberation!

6.    Don't give up a game just because you have mastered it. Keep playing without playership!

7.    See the truth taught by the Guru process. Ignore the rest (personality).

8.    Let thoughts and volitions rise and disappear like bubbles arising and vanishing in a river.

9.    Intelligence alone is perfection and taintless.

10.                   Sharing of Intelligence is possible. There is no way to teach It, nor is there a way to learn It.

11.                   Space-like, Shiva is Intelligence.

12.                   Intelligence neither admits fate nor providence imagined by “I”.

13.                   Intelligence does not recognize heaven or hell, devas or demons, division or divinity. Divinity contrived by mind is deceit.

14.                   Nothing can be added or taken away from Intelligence. It can not be invoked or worshipped. Scriptures or mantrams can not reach it.

15.                   Neither vice nor virtue ever exists in the veracity of Intelligence!

16.                   Intelligence is beyond influences or instructions, beyond knowledge or experience, beyond attachment or detachment.

17.                   The nasty, narrow, notorious and nagging “I” has nothing to do with Intelligence. Eradication of “I” is the emergence of Intelligence.

18.                   Intelligence is meditation. “I” doing “meditation” is the denial of meditation.

19.                   Intelligence does not approve any ritualistic injunction although It is not against ritual.

20.                   Intelligence is nameless and formless, yet It can be seen in names and forms!

21.                   Intelligence is free from “mine” and “thine”.

22.                   Time and causation never exist in Intelligence.

23.                   Intelligence is beyond classification as spiritual or secular.

24.                   Intelligence renounces everything including renunciation!

25.                   Mind is mourning. 'No-mind' (Intelligence) is celebration.

26.                   Life or Intelligence which is veracity does not know any religious merit or sin which are formulated by mind and its vanity and vested interests.

27.                   Intelligence does not entertain any ideal!

28.                   Avadhut is immersed in the immaculate bliss of his natural state as activity of mind has melted in choicelessness.

29.                   Avadhut may or may not meditate, may or may not worship.

Avadhut is Shiva, nirguna, gunatita --- that is, free from the contents which constitute the conspicuous consciousness which one feels or experiences through the mechanism of duality (“I” and “my” consciousness). This mechanism of duality gives rise to the ache & agony of loneliness by promoting the separative psyche “I”. And thereby begins the everlasting escapes from loneliness through seeking   entertainment and excitement (both mundane and “religious”) which only enhance the loneliness. Thus the real living quality of existential life ---- free from mental burdens ---- is totally lost in the endless pursuits and paradoxes of “I”.

A: Anasakta (unattached). Va: Varjita (renounced). Dhu: Dhulsama (dust-like).T: Tat (existential)

This is Avadhut.

Kriya deconditions and sets the seeker free from the past karma. It transforms fundamentally the gross ego-centre of the seeker into a subtle individual uniqueness which also includes universality. It brings harmony with the wholeness of life by piercing through the ignorance of the ways of self.
